Nick Smith


Nick has twenty years experience of developing visitor experiences for national museums, international EXPOs, science institutions and government authorities.

A Prince2 Practitioner, Nick is a Project Director working across KCA’s varied projects. Highlight projects include managing the conceptual master planning and international competitions for two major  EXPO experiences, content management of a major experience in the Olympic Park for the London 2012 Games and the design and operational specification of a new education centre for the Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research.

Before setting up KCA London with his colleagues, Nick worked at the Science Museum, London, delivering touring exhibitions and permanent visitor experiences both at the Museum and for clients around the world. Projects include an interactive sports experience for Chelsea Football Club; the landmark Wellcome Wing at the Science Museum; and the Caspian Energy Centre in Azerbaijan.

With KCA London, Nick has continued to work on a range of projects on an international scale, with clients including MASDAR (UAE), Mishkat Interactive Centre (Saudi Arabia), Qatar Museums Authority, Veolia Environmental Services, the Malta Council of Science and Technology. Nick was the project director for the design of an exhibition at Wakehurst and for the Saudi pavilion at EXPO 2017 in Astana. Most recently he has been working on a masterplan for a new museum in Shandong, China and as Project Director for the redesign and development of schools workshops for four areas at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum.
